Default bike dumping water

Ok, the other week my bike got up around 3/4 on the temp gauge and when i parked it, it started dumping all the coolant out. There's a small hose that comes out the bottom of the bike and thats where it comes from. I just rode it around and then let it idle til the temp got up and it did the same thing. The fan is working and I'm assuming that tube comes from the overflow. Could it be a bad rad cap? I'm not real familiar with bikes, but does the water pump have a weep hole similiar to cars?

think about half ways the first time it happened. the temp will continue to rise from there though. if i'm in traffic it will get all the way to hot.

Does the rad fan come on when you are in traffic? If not might check the easy stuff first like fan fuse.

Same thing happened to me also. So far I have replaced the o-rings in the oil cooler and water pump, replaced my thermo switch (cause my fan was not turning on!) and am now looking into the thermostat. Have you checked yours yet?

There are lines on the bottle, is the fluid level in between them when the bike is cold? If not, then overflow is dumping excess fluid when the bike is hot.

the overflow level shouldnt be the problem because i hadn't touched it in atleast 6 months before this happened. so why all of a sudden would it be too full. and if the overflow was too full why would the bike continue to overheat when it started dumping water.

yes the fan works like it should, but i was planning on putting a switch on it as well so i can turn it on a little sooner. I'm in south texas so 100+ is normal for summer.

I haven't replaced the thermostat yet or even taken it out, I was kinda leaning towards it being stuck closed. Anybody have a napa or any aftermarket part # for this? If I remember correct honda wants around $30 for it, which is a little ridiculous in my opinion.

I don't ride the bike very much anymore but any help is definitely appreciated.

I'm going through the same **** right now. I live in Las Vegas and the temps are around 110. I pulled out my thermostat today and tested it. It should open somewhere between 80-84 C (176-183 F) and should open around 8mm. Mine only opened about 1mm. I just ordered one from Hondaparts-direct.com for $26.07, cheapest I could find it.

When your tightening your thermostat cover back on make sure not to over tighten it. Mine cracked when I was trying to tighten it so now I have to pay another $37 for that

I just want to get my bike back on the road!!!!

One other thing, how old is the coolant in your bike? That should be changed out every couple years or 8K miles. If you don't know, I recommend changing out the coolant since you've already got the system opened up.
