best place for a new fuel pump connector block?
Got my bike out for the first time this year, started fine was running lovely and then suddenly spluttered and died
On further investigation the fuel pump was only getting 3volts! Hard-wired a fused wire from the battery direct to the fuel pump which fixed the problem and got me home, but the wiring from the fuel pump to the connector block is all corroded
Really need to re-wire it properly but not sure what to search for to get the new parts? nothing on david silver spares, and can only find full wiring harnesses on ebay
its the bit under the tank that the live feed from the fuel pump plugs in to - i'm calling it a "connector block" but is there a proper name for it? or does anyone know a good place in the UK to get a new one from please?
Thankyou

OEM-Type Bullet & Spade Electrical Connectors for 1960's through 1970's Japanese Vehicles... Bridgestone, Datsun, Hodaka, Honda, Kawasaki, Landcruiser, Suzuki, Tohatsu, VW, & Yamaha
You can find some cool stuff there.
Also, you can use a trailer-light connector set,
as a substitute for a 4-way high-voltage connector.
Replacing a section of harness isn't really hard.
Especially, if you can solder.
Heat-shrink tubing is your friend.
Just be sure to track your wires.
Replace them one at a time, following the old wire's path.
When you come to a connector, the easiest way, I've found...
Plug the new connector-set together.
Then, just work your way through each wire, as you splice it in.
If you don't trust your soldering skills, check out 'Posi-Lock' Connectors.
They are pricey, but high quality and reliable.

Good luck, Ern
