Best Lube?

Yes, I do know the plethora of jokes that can come from that title.
Anywho, I'm having to replace the front tire on my bike (I sat down beside it and noticed I could see threads here and there my face went O.O). Taking the axle off was the worst part, had to hammer it out with a ratchet attachment that fit right in the hole (but bigger than the thread so no damage worries). BUT after that, I was curious as to what type of lubrication I should get for parts like the axle and the bearings. Also, is there any good cleaner to remove surface rust?
On the topic of lube, what's good for the chain? (I know you use kerosene to clean it)
Can I find all these things at my local Honda Powersports?

You can use steel wool to remove small amounts of surface rust. You can then use a metal polish after. I use Mobil 1 Synthetic grease for lubing the axle shaft. As for chain lube, Web Bike World did an excellent article on Duponts Teflon lubricant. Real informative. I've been using it for a couple of years now. No sling off, and doesn't collect dirt.

I recon anything that is not prone to flying off ... most of the bike chain lubes are ok .. I have tried quite a few over the years

Love this stuff. Cheap, clean and works well.
