Default bar ends and throttle

So I ordered some bar ends, but on the throttle side when they are tightened as far as they can go (I think I'm running out of receiving thread room inside the handle bar cuz past a certain point the bolt just spins without getting tighter), the bar end can still spin a little bit. Worse the this, it presses against the throttle grip so much that it can't spring back to 0 throttle. Do you guys think something is messed up in the bar or what? When I bought the bike it only had a bar end on the left side and I guess this is why...what's goin on here?

Sounds like it is stripped inside the bar.

I did the same thing whenI installed my new bar ends. To fix the issue I just backed the screw a quarter turn and have hadno problems since. The bar end may not be tight but will be snug and wont thread out.

So if the inside of the bar is stripped I pretty much just have to buy a new one?

Yeah if I COULD just back em off I totally would. Problem is however that they never even get that snug and when they are at a fairly acceptable tightness, it presses against the throttle so hard that it can't move freely. If I back it out far enough so that the throttle can move freely there is a big gap between the end and the bar. Aesthetics aside it's so loose it would probably work itself out. Anyone else had this problem? I really don't even see how it is supposed to get close to snug without binding the throttle.

Never had the problem with it binding, but you could try loosening the switch block & moving it slightly to the left (throttle moves with it)

From what you describe it now sounds as though it is stripped inside
