Default Bad dent found. WHAT TO DO?

Ok everyone. so ive been getting my bike ready for paint. i just sent the tank to media blasting, due to the fact that there was about 5 layers of paint on it...
so i went to pick it up, and he said there was a HUGE glob of bondo in there. and now i have a ginormous crease dent to deal with...
so here me question to any paint and body guys out there. take a look at the pics, and tell me what you think. im thinking i should be able to take it to a dent free shop and get it pdr worked at least something close to good. but i dont know what the cost would be. i could slab a bunch of bondo back in there, or should i totally scrap the tank and seek a new one? the only reason i would hate to do that would be because i just dropped 100 bucks on media blasting...anyways, let me know what you think....

I would pull the dent out so that there isn't 3 or so inches of bondo. You're gunna have to have some, but you just don't want that much. If you weld something to the tank, MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO GAS FUMES INSIDE!!! I've seen a tank blow from someone trying to do this.

I agree with Marco I had a dent in my tank around the same size so I drained the tank and flushed it with water. I welded on a nut over the dent and used a dent puller to pull the metal. Then I used my grinder to remove the nut. It worked and pulled out most of the dent. Then I filled in the dent with bondo. Your bodyshop should not charge you that much to pull out the dent just bring it to them flushed and free of gas fumes. Good luck.

I just remembered, I have a tank laying around. If you're going to repaint, it would be a good candidate.

i think i know what you mean....i used to work at carmax (which i hate) and they would tack weld little rods all over the place, to attach a slide hammer to... is this correct?

ha, gotcha. i dont really have a bodyshop, which is why i was looking at pdr shops (paintless dent repair). where they push the dent out, using different sized rods, from the inside. they can actually make the dents disappear, eliminating the need for bondo and new paint...i was thinking of going this route, but because its such "good" work, that on a painted vehicle saves so much money, im sure they can charge however much they want....ya know?

that would be awesome man. im kinda trying to keep everything as cheap as i can right now. i blew 100 bucks on THIS tank, only to have burned my money, and that sum equaling a 1/3rd of what i paid for the bike as a whole...lol. so pm me with any details i guess. im definitely trying to get this thing looking nice again.
