Hello, I took my rear fender off my bike the other night and I like how it looks but I was looking to see if I could find a different chain guard then the plastic one and I found this one on eBay and I think it will work out nice but I wanted to see some pictures of it installed first to make sure that is what I want, here's the links

I have thought about getting this as well. I really don't like the big bulky chain and tire hugger that came stock on the F3.

Has anyone run without a chainguard. I just bought full leathers and have thought about taking the whole thing off, but I don't want any sort of splatter on my suit. Are there any down sides to running without a chain guard?

I havent had the chaingaurd/hugger on mine since I got it. Took it off as soon as I got it. Looks alot better without it IMHO.
I havent had any problems with splatter or sling from the chain. Just make sure right after you lube your chain, rub the excess lube off the chain, helps alot.

 

ya i have been running without the hugger, i just put the stock plastic chain guard back on (it comes off the hugger fender) so the chain dosent fling anythink off of it after i lube i,t i like how it looks with the fender also, this summer when i start making 30-40 dollars an hour again i will buy one

 

I took mine off a while back and I haven't had any problems yet. Plus, I agree, it looks better without it.

 

How do you put the chain guard on by itself without the hugger? I have tried and I know they are seperate parts, but I could not bolt up just the chain guard.

 

i just took a metric bot and bolted it on it has not moved since i put it on there 200 miles ago
