Another "What Tire???" Thread
So here's the situation:
On my bike right now (95 600 F3) I've got a 120/60ZR17 Dunlop Sportmax D207F up front. It's nearly bald, won't pass inspection. On the rear I've got a 160/60ZR17 Dunlop Sportmax D220ST. That one looks great; must not have too many miles on it. So the front tire needs to be replaced, the rear is fine.
I've looked into it and I like the Dunlop Qualifiers and Pilot Powers. I like the Pilot, read about it....seems to be a good one. Would it be a terrible idea to put a Michelin on the front with the Dunlop left on back? Should I stick with Dunlops and just put the Qualifier on front? Should I be looking at a completely different tire?
Thanks for any ideas!

No it would not hurt, tyre profiles for our bikes a pretty much the same. Some people swap & change as a matter of course. The front and rear always wear at different rates, so your going to be in this situation again when replacing the rear. So go with wot you want

You might also want to check the tires' date of manufacture. Supposedly even if a tire has a lot of tread left, if it's more than about three years old the rubber dries outand doesn't grip as well. I don't know if this is true, or just a scam to get people to buy more tires.
Here's how to find out how old your tires are:

its best to do both tires at the same time because they wear differently not to mention stick with the same brand front and rear. No it won't hurt anything but tires are designed to work with each other so to get full potential out of your tires stick with the same front and rear and just buy new ones. Remember tires are the only thing keeping it on the ground. You don't want to cheap out on tires.
