Question Aftermarket headlight bulb question

Hey I'm looking to upgrade the brightness of my light and saw these..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT Has anyone gotten these? The guy selling them said they are plug & play and won't have to re-do any of my wiring... Opinions/experiences/suggestions? Thanks!

I may be mistaken but that looks like a regular halogen bulb with a blue coating. True HID bulbs require much higher voltage. The balast supplies that voltage.
There are a couple of threads here where true HID conversions have been done. Most have been on dual headlight models. That makes it easy for one high and one low.
If you get this light let us know if it was a good deal.

do it!!

to clear things up this is not an HID bulb, its a standard bulb filled with xenon gas and given a blue tint to change the colour of the light given.

i have one in my bike and have always had them in my cars,
it marginally improves vision due to the xenon gas burning at a brighter kelvin, but the large part is that it gets rid of that ugly dated looking yellow tinge to a white/ice blue.

i would definitley recommend this to anyone, and replace the sidelight bulb with a white led buld.

a definite cheap easy mod

+1, they're great. Honestly, absolutely nothing comes close to an HID kit, and THAT was the best investment I made. I do a lot of night riding, so illumination is a huge thing for me.
