I'm sure this has already been addressed before, I tried using the search bar but came up empty handed. I want to get a red chain for my bike, whats a good website to get an aftermarket chain? I tried searching for it on google but there wasn't alot of results (need one to match stock sprockets) Any advice?

 

D.I.D. or renthal makes good chains, but like Oil & tires, it is just my opinion. I do know if you do find a red chain, make sure it is only 108 links for the F3.

 

EK Chain (Enuma Chain) makes colored chains that are of excellent quality. I'm using EK Chains on all my bikes. They're not as hard to keep looking good as you might think. It's going to come in 120 links that you then cut to 108 links for the F3. Few companies actually package chains in bike specific lengths, but they can be found.

Look for EK Chain or Driven chains. (Driven's chains are manufactured by EK).

 

RK Excel chains offers colored variants and they're considered OEM for some manufactures as well.

the default gold/plain chains can be picked up from RK in a sprocket kit pre sized for the CBR but their colored variants do require sizing which you'll find with most brands.

As for matching your stock sprockets you just need to match the chain size which if it is stock it would be 530.

 

Well, to be entirely accurate, the 95 and 96 F3's have 530 chains, and the 97 and 98's have 525 chains.

 

Thanks for the correction, I only have the FSM for F2's and early F3's.

Another thing I would ask is there any particular reason you wish to stay with the original sprocket? If it's new I can totally understand but with chain wear I often see the sprockets giving out around the time the chain needs to be done.

 

After taking it on the freeway for the first time today I'm pretty sure that it has an aftermarket sprocket kit. No speedo is off that much because when I was keeping up with traffic it said I was going 95mph in a 65...
