Strange of you to ask that on a CBR forum, but Iam going to go with the "HONDA" [sm=goodidea.gif] why ?? because I like my 93 F-2
and so far Ive no problems (KNOCK ON WOOD!!!!!!) I do own a 04 KAWI KLX-300R but only cuz a buddy had one and he talked me into getting it I was gona get a 04 HONDA XR-400R, wished I would have gotten the HONDA now

I think when you're dealing with 8-year old used bikes, the condition of the individual bike might be more important than anything else. A well-maintained, gently used bike is better than one that's been neglected or abused, regardless of model. Also, some bikes will just fit your body proportions better than others.
I started with an F3, although I had ridden other people's bikes before, everything from 200 cc dirt bikes to big-Vee Harleys. The F3 is a good beginner bike because you won't be paying too much for it. It pulls hard enough, though, that you can get into trouble in a hurry if you don't respect it.

In my case the ninja has been well taken care of. The guy barely rode the bike. Never dropped. No scratches. Very nice. I will have to go with the ninja. In the future I will get a honda though. Thanks to all you guys for all the help you provided but I have to say good bye to the cbr forum, I will soon be joining a ninja forum. Thanks again
