98 f3 chain and sprocket ?

the '91-'96 uses a 530 chain, therefore it would be a different pitch than the 97-98, which uses a 525 chain. Not sure about mixing and matching sprockets and chains of different pitches (520, 525, 530)
Otherwise, they are the same sprockets (bolt spacing and diameter) on all of the F3's.

Here's a nice explanation of chain basics I came across.

Pretty good price here.. It's OEM mind ya.. Can't go wrong. From what I can tell it's the engine sprocket, rear sprocket, and complete chain for about $130.. #27 on list http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...1998&fveh=3047

Sorry to jump on !
Sorry to jump on the end of the thread! But I'm a bit confused about my chain and sprocket..
Originally I had a 14 toothed sprocket at the front and a 43 at the rear.
Ordered a new set ( asked the assistant if it was the correct one on which he said yes to ) however, now I have them, the front is 16 toothed - doesn't fit to the transmission though and the rear is 44.
Would the performance of the bike be affected if I run a 14 on the front at 44 on the rear?
Thanks in advance!
