Default 98' CBR600 F3 gear question

Hey guys, got a question. Ive got a 98' CBR600 F3. In the manual it says i should have 6 gears: 1 down, and 5 up (not including neutral). Why the effword do i only have 5? I have 1 down and4 up (not including neutral)Or was it the 98 CBR600 SE that only came with the 6 gears, and they just kept the manuals the same? or do i need a new trany? Any help would be appreciated!

You have a tranny problem; Bent shifter fork or some other evil internal thing. Smokin Joes bikes were identical but the colors and identification plate. ALL mech specs were the SAME!!

Yeah tranny problem. You should have 6 without neutral.

do you guys think its a major tranny problem or just a lost gear? ill have to take it to the honda shop soon then and have em' look at it. I'm thinking if it were a major tranny problem my other gears wouldnt be workin to well, so im thinkin it may be a lost gear...although im no mechanic so idk.. Guess get to spend more money now

Gosh I have never heard of this before .. Honda CBR600 gearboxes are usually very reliable ..something is very amiss here ..do you know what I have noticed though?? ..I get an amazing amount of false neutrals when it's time to adjust my chain slack ..I will pull away 1st ..2nd ..no problem go into 3rd and the the needly ***** round to 10K ..yikes!!! .. I hit a neutral ..I adjust the chain and perfect again until the next time ..check the chain is not too loose or too tight ..beyond that gearbox damage worries me because can you imagine one seizing?? ... if the engine seized you can pull in the clutch but if it's the gearbox that is it ..rear wheel locked!!

Probably a bent fork or bad shift drum is where I would put my money.
