Question 98 CBR F3 Smokin Joes upgrading parts help

Hi guys im new to this forum, I have a 98 cbr f3 and it currently has the solo seat where its all connected and I wanted to know if I can convert it to the dual seat look that many newer bikes have. Also I wanted to change the stock side covers that it has because I think it makes it look too bulky, and I like the newer sleeker style. Any advice for me? Thanks in advance.

I don't think you will be able to while keeping it looking the way a Smokin' Joes should. In order to do split seat you will likely need a whole new subframe and fairings.

in order to do the split seat youll have to cut the subframe off if the f3 and and weld a new one on from a bike with a split seat. along with that youll need the tail fairings for that subframe and the seats.

Many people have done it, its not too hard as long as you have some fabrications skills apparently.

as for the side covers you mean the engine case side covers or the plastics? Plastics its possible but requires fabricating and welding parts for new mounts and such. If you ment engine case, not that ive heard of.

Some people have used the cbr600RR rear seat on the F3 with a great result.
It still takes some modification to the f3 frame. But it looks a lot less complicated than an entirely new sub frame.

here's someone that's done it. Reply #22 explains how he did it.

Where is Saratoga UalRamper? Also I probably want too much for the bike especially in its current condition. Just do a search for one, you're bound to find another purple 96 in as good or better condition if you keep looking.
