97 F3 fuel pump/ Fuel Relay? HELP!
okay, so im going to try and be a clear as i can with this. so please bare with me.
i have a 1997Cbr600f3 with over 95k on it. i keep the carbs clean and air box clean and do its oil changes every 5000....
i was riding along and one day the bike shut off as if it ran outta gas. i figured out it was the fuelpump. took it off and ran a gravity feed (lined from tank to carbs) the bike ran fine the only issue was it could not stay idle at a redlight, youd have to keep it alive. finally ordered a 30 dollar repair kit for the pump (contacts were bad) and the bike ran just fine again. but 4 weeks and 3000 miles later it shut off like it ran out of gas. pulled over and with a small tool kit, ran a gravity feed once more and she lit right up. while the bike was idling, i connected the electric wires to test if the contacts were working...it was, contacts were sparking and seemed like pump should be running fine. im still running the gravity feed (annoying, ppl who say you cant feel the difference, obviously dont know how their bike is "supposed" to feel) so my question is, could it be a clog in the lines? the gas tank? or is it the fuel pump relay? im unsure at this point! thanks for the help guys and ride safe!

couple of questions
when you run gravity fed do you still run through the fuel filter if you just connect to the tank your filter may be clogged.
when you run gravity do you take the carb feed pipe and connect it to the tank if so your feed pipe from the tank to the pump may kink or might have collapsed internally (you may have to change this feed pipe).
i had a mate with an rf900 and his bike wouldnt run so we lifted the tank to check and it fired up, put the tank down and it would stop, (kinked pipes).
hope this helps
