I just bought this bike and rode it about 50 miles is all. In that time I have noticed the oil light flash on and off while riding. But it did not while idling. The oil level is full. It seems to run great. But when I was going to work yesterday it died on me, then about 5 minutes of waiting it started and now has a ticking when idling and riding. I have parked it until I can fix it. Do you guys think I need to adjust the valves? Oh, and now the oil light is on all the time. And the ticking noise seems to be coming from the right top side. Please let me know what you guys think as I am new to Hondas. Thanks in advance. Matt

 

Something is preventing the oil from getting to the top end. This can be caused from several things, oil pump failure, wrong oil weight, or something is preventing the oil from flowing. I am going to start with the oil pump going out because of the light going on and off and is on continuously. I HIGHLY recommend that you do not start the bike anymore until the problem is repaired because you can be damaging the top end. I recommend that you remove the oil pump and inspect it per the service manual.

The oil light refers to low oil PRESSURE, not level. Pumps are the first place to start with low pressure.
