900rr swap into f3

The rear motor mounts will go in but the front will not mount. You will basically have a hanging motor.
Better yet get you some 900 sleaves & put them into your upper F3 cases with 900 pistons. There will definately be some machining work but has been done. With the difference in stroke & the increased combustion chamber it comes out to a 698 I believe. Ive seen 2 in my 10yrs in the industry & they were screamers.

how mechanically inclined are you? how dedicated are you? Im guessing you already have an F3. Is it worth the downtime of not riding the bike? Are you gonna get halfway through the project and lose interest and try to sell it for scrap? Not only think about the custom motor mounts, but will the chain line up right? will the rear suspension be ok? will the radiator be adequate for the bigger motor? fuel lines, vacuum lines, throttle + choke lines, exhaust, intake.... there is alot of stuff involved. Not to discourage you, i would love to see one built!

I've actually seen a craigslist posting and the guy had a 900rr motor in a 95 f3. if i remember correctly the only mounts that had to be fabbed up were the mounts by the carbs. Also he had to notch a wee bit of the frame for the top of the motor. he also got a in tank fuel pump. maybe even used the f3 wire harness. i know the f3 spark box is an upgrade for the 900 motor. hope this helps.
