Default 637 engine winter project.....

So I'm thinking about building a 637 this winter. A few questions while I look around and consider it.

1. Does anyone sell a complete 637 kit? Pistons, pins, rings and such....

2. Are there complete engine gasket kits available?

3. I've read that the 98 engine was more powerful than the 95. I this due to the carbs or does it have anything to do with the bottom end? Will a 98 plug right into the 95 setup with sensors and such or does anything need to be changed?

Thanks

why not sell your bike and get a 636? problem solved. you can get like 2500 for yours i'm sure easily maybe 2800, and an 03 636 will go for like 4700-4800.

That's what I have in my racebike.

Price everything separately, you maycome out ahead.

Word of warning, the Cometic gaskets are known to be faulty, especially the head gaskets.Use an OEM gasket kit, then cutthe head gasket2 mil over.

The 98s do have a little more power. It is due to the carbs, and the flow of the head. The bottom ends are the same. Gota get back to work.I'll finish this later

I heard the 98's have like 1 bhp more, if this is true it is probably not worth the work.

Is the 637 a very streetable engine still? Or would you only really use it on the track?

I figure If I have a choice when looking for a motor to build, I might as well get the best one I can find, even if it is only 1bhp
