600FW rear wheel help
Hi,
New to the forum and in abit of a sticky situation!
I've got a new (2nd hand) rear wheel for my bike as I'm going to get it painted and keep my normal black one in storage.
So I got a wheel off a guy who said it was for a 1998 cbr600, it had a tyre on it - 180/55. I thought maybe he's just fitted the wrong size, after checking pictures of later 600 models I thought "right it's definatly the right wheel, since the newer models have 3 spokes"
BUT then I notice around the 1998 period the fireblades also had the same style spoked wheels and the rear tyre IS a 180/55. I got a brake caliper with the wheel and the rear axel. The chain adjusters look the same as on my 600. But before I get it painted I want to make sure that this wheel is going to fit straight into my bike with no mods etc.
Anyone know how I can check? by numbers stamped onto the wheel etc?
All I can think of while I'm away from the wheel is to check the rear brake caliper to see if it's the same as on my 600.
I hope that was enough info.
Thanks
Ginger Chris

OK!!! first off do you have a 600 F3 and if you do that tire will not fit from what was told on this site the stock tire is a 160 i beleave you can put at most 170 (some makes not all) on the stock swing arm without it rubbing but thats from what i was told on this cbr site good luck hope im not to late on the subject
