Default 600 F3 stock mixture screw setting

Picked up a 9k mile F3. Non running and had been sitting for some time, Thoroughly cleaned carbs and set mixture screws to 1.5 turns out, does this sound about right?

You are probably not wanting to hear this but I would suggest going through your carbs again. They have to be meticulously clean.

Also, make sure your plug leads are on the correct cylinders.

thank you. They werent! Getting closer. Can get it started and it runs good when warmed up but starting from cold is almost impossible. Carbs thoroughly cleaned, screws are 2 turns out. Has slight bog off idle. 9k mile bike. Possibly valves? This vid it was cold so really choppy off idle but warmed up its smooth. Choke does not help either, actually makes it worse. Carbs had 40 pilot jets and 140 mains

One other thing I noticed is when the the rpm hits about 2000 I hear what sounds like detonation coming from the top of the head....its intermittent and goes away with revs.

I fixed the "detonation" it was actially
the cam chain. There is a hack for manually adjusting it. But still having a terrible time starting cold. One thing I missing was checking the non removable jets in the float bowls. I think those are the starting circuit. I'm sure its lean when starting bc I'm getting backfires and the choke has almost no effect. Bike is only 9k miles so I doubt valves.

How's your choke working?
Your RPMS should be 1,200 +/- 100. You have to continual tweak it while you are syncing the carbs.

Choke actuation is good. I havent taken apart the plungers...should I?

Trying to see if these are clogged. If I hit them with carb cleaner I cant see where is comes out
