Default $400 bucks to clean the carbs?!

mann i got extra lazy to do this but it seemed like my f3 was running very poorly and only on 2 cylinders.. i brought her to the shop.. to get the carbs cleaned.. the dude told me about all the other problems about her and said it would prob cost me over $1,000 to get her to pass inspection, he said things like theres a nail in my tire, back breaks were touching the rotors a bit and the wires were poorly connected.. i was like dude just clean the carbs for me and put new spark plugs.. which would cost about $400 so hes telling me the rest of the problems would be around $6-700 my mans crazy..

my question tho is if it was only running on 2 cylinders, what could the problems be? fuel pump works btw

If your not running on all 4 theres a few things that are suspect. Not in any order: plugs, wires, coil, carbs, valves, and compression. Any of them can cause a cylinder not to fire at all or partially. Good luck, and where do you live that requires inspection on a bike ?

$400 sounds bout right for a mechanic that doesn't want to work on an old carbed bike

I got mine cleaned from a guy on craigslist for 20.00 an hour. Cost me 50 bucks. Should check craigslist first.
