Default 2 questions on the f4i gauge swap... please help quick im in middle of install

Hey all,

just installing the 2002 f4i gauges ($130cdn) on my 1998 cbr 600 f3
I have been reading about this speedo healer... or something... just wondering .. do we have speedo wires like the older bikes ? or does my 1998 already have the updated tone wheel style pick up so just installing the cluster and the 900rr switch would be all I need for the cluster to read speed, rpm and temperature ? no special tone wheel accessory or anything like that for the digital speedo to read?

thanks

-Lee

Ya, all you need is the 900rr temp switch. Everything else works fine. For speedo to be accurate you need a -1 front sprocket.

f4i swap was a complete and utter success, took in total including fairing removal and installation and mounting the tach around 2.5 hrs.... I found a single 16pin female and male harness, routed all the wires through it and have 1 single harness connector for the whole swap.

the only thing about the instructions I found that was confusing was the pink wire on the f3 to the green wire on the f3...... it said pink wire to f3 and green wire (other green wire) from f4i ... so I was confused so I pulled out the test light quick ...

everything is good ... going to do the temp sensor at work tomorrow, don't feel like getting the garage messy with coolant.

thanks again for everyones help ...

Glad you got it together. Changing the sensor shouldnt allow any coolant to come out of your motor. That said, I hope you are aware the sensor is the one above the top waterneck on the right side of the motor, not on the radiator.
