Default 1998 cbr600 fuel valve

Hey guys I have a 1998 cbr600. I need a new fuel valve. Its my understanding that the f3 valves do not have a vacuum line while the f2 valves do. I'm looking at a cheap valve from Amazon. They all say compatible with f2&f3. But every single one has the vacuum line. The stock valve doesn't have a vacuum line. Can I just plug it off or will it work?

I got the bike cheap and don't want to dump too much money into it.
This is what I'm looking at:

Fuel Valve Petcock Assembly For HONDA CBR600 F2 F3 CBR 600 1997 1998 1999 2000 https://a.co/d/5CJzyoc

Any advice would be much appreciated.

You cannot just blank the vacuum pipe off, the valve will not pass petrol without a vacuum, but it should be easy enough to run a hose from the vacuum take-off point of one of the carbs to the valve.

Question is, why not just get an F3 valve? Breakers must have them.

Breakers is the UK term for junk yard (loosely).

I don't know what you call them in the US but a scrap yard that breaks bikes and sells the parts.

eBay's good source for used/NOS parts for older bikes. Yeah, they get F2 mixed in there as well, but some are genuine F3 petcocks without vacuum port.

ebay - CBR600F3 petcock

Probably better to get old used OEM unit and rebuild with All ***** kit.

I’ve had about 4 aftermarket Petcocks and 2 OEM petcocks and they’ve all seized where I was unable to switch from Off, to On, or Reserve. Made plenty of messes having them stuck in the on position.

The manual says should only switch to OFF for long term storage and Reserve if run out of fuel. Am using an aftermarket one and is just fine.
