Default 1997 f3

Hi All,

I have a 1997 f3 and i've put two fuel pumps on it since January. So I have removed it completely and now have the pipe going straight from the tank into the carbs with an inline filter and it runs better now than it ever did.
Has anyone done this and will it be ok long term.

kind regards dave.

Yes, there are alot of people on this board who have done that. Do a search and ill bet you come up with at least ten, me being one of them... There are however a few disadvantages that you will run into. Your bike wont like to run right with less than 1/4 tank, and it will be starving for fuel at higher rpms, but yes it can be done. I have found an aftermarket pump that works pretty well from napa (ill try to get the part # if your intersted). Its only 35 dollars which is alot cheaper than 170$ that the dealership wants for an oem one.

keep your eyes open.

you can also get a rebuild kit pretty damn cheap.
ask IDoDirt about those.
