Welcome!

Sorry to hear about your f3's issue. I would like to try to help on this since my second bike was a 97 F3..

You can also check out the forum for the F3 or post in the general tech forum and you may get a few more responses.

As far as the bike dieing out around 4K and up I believe that might be the regulator rectifier... or it very well could just be a bad battery. Sometimes you will find that a battery with one bad cell will let you start the bike etc, but when you really start pushing the electrical system it will do some odd things. I would grab a volt meter and see what kind of voltage you are pulling at low rpm vs the higher rpm that you are talking about.. It should stay between 13 and 14 volts. If it is going down to 10-11 at the higher rpms then there is a problem, I would start with getting the battery checked. then if thats fine there are a couple steps to test the regulator rectifier and the stator...

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Once again Welcome to CBRForums!

welcome to the forums, sorry to hear about the bike troubles...

it may be worth checking all the hoses under the tank, the ram air hoses for any that have come adrift or are kinked ...any air blockages or breather blockages, when she stalls above 4K open the fuel tank and see if air hisses and rushes in which would cause fuel starvation due to a vacuum being created in the tank...

Good luck and let us all know :-)
