1996 f3
So I invested in my first bike a 1996 F3 all in all a beautiful bike, has a few scratches here and there but nothing too bad, I do however miss a few things on the bike.
1. I'm missing a front fender (mud guard) for the bike, these are quite hard to obtain in Denmark for some reason. I know the F2 fender does not fit but can any of you tell me if the 97 - 98 fit a 1995 - 1996???
2. The trip meter is broken (please correct me if that is the wrong name) not sure what it is. It no longer counts and i can press the reset arm but the numbers do not reset only moves a little bit I'm guessing that the cog is broken. Can anyone give advice on how to best fix this issue or are we talking a whole new instrumentation for the bike?
Thank you for taking the time to help out.

Hey there and welcome to the forum. I am not positive but I think the front fender is different on your year. Don't quote me on that though. Look on a part sellers web site and compare the part numbers for the various f3 years. But something in the back of my mind says they aren't they same.
To your trip.meter, mie did the same thing. After disabling it i found that behind the reset button is a long, narrow plastic stem. mine had broken. Seems like a poor design to me as it can't take much lateral pressure. I was able to repair mine by using copious amounts of hot glue. I tried several other glues and couldn't get any to hold except the hot glue method.

I'll try and and check the parts numbers and deduct from there. I did find a couple of stores who had parts from wrecked or scrapped bikes but in each case they could not find the part or didn't bother to look, kinda weird as they had a price tag of 100$ on a used fender, but they did offer to order a new one for the bike which would cost me 200 - 250$, now I'm not stingy and as I mentioned the rest of the fairings has some minor scratches I'd rather use that money for a complete fairing set and have it look as good as new, but that will be a winter project.
Anyone have experiences with fairings from ebay or the like, I know the quality is below original fairings thinner plastic etc. But the import costs of buying from say extreme fairings would raise the price of the initial buy with about 30 - 50% quite expensive.
