1996 CBR F3 Vacuum Lines and fuelpump?
Hi Guys,
sorry for my English, there could be some some mistakes in my writing.
I am from Germany and i got myself a F3 for track use. When the Bike is back togehter and running i will be posting pics/vids.
The Problem is that the Bike was at least 3 Years i a Shed and not moved a single time. Right now it is running again but it was just a quick test run to see if the engine itself is not damaged.
The fueltank was completely rusted - allready fixed
The Carbs got a good Clean by Hand but i did not split them yet, again it is to see if the engine is not damaged. I got myself some Carbcleaner, a toothbrush and very tiny brushes to poke through the jets which looks like it worked quite well.
Today i remounted the Carbs with new rubberflanges (I don't know what these are called in English) because the old ones were completely hardened. It was a pain in the butt to remove those....
The engine runs while choke is pulled but dies when set back. I was able to give her some revs where she stayed running but as soon as it got back to idle it died again. Just the carbs mounted on engine, no airbox or stack was mounted.
The fuelpump is ticking when connected to a 12Volt source but i cant tell if it's pumping or not because when i switch the key it keeps quite. On the other Bikes i owned the started ticking when key was switched on???
So my current problem is, at least i guess it is, the connect the ramair hoses and the overflow-fuelhose back again, sort the fuellines (Tank to pump to carb?) but i could not find any good picture where it is shown and i got the ramair hoses in a bag, which means i could not take pictures of how they are supposed to be mounted.
On the positive side is that the ole CBR has an stainless header and silencer which looks damn familiar to Akrapovic.
I got a WP Suspension Shock and a rear-rim.
Can you maybe help me?
Greetings from Germany!

The fuel pump is actuated by the same circuit that send spark to the coils. Unless the crankshaft is turning the pump won't tick, so no ticking when the key is switched on is normal. To check, you can touch the pump while the bike is running and see if you can feel it pulsing.
Sounds like you're running lean, maybe try soak the fuel jets in some cleaner? I'm running into the opposite problem, I'm running too rich and I have no idea why haha.
