Default 03 rr rear tail conversion

I hate the look of my f3 tail and how fat it looks and ive seen someone do an 03 rr tail conversion. But i was wondering if someone knew how to do it or how difficult it is to do it. Or if anyone has any other tail conversions i can do. Thanx for your help.

This is kind of one of those things where if you have to ask you shouldn't try it. There is no one was to do it, so thats for you to use your imagination for. A lot of people modify the stock subframe and weld on mounting points to use the bolts for the rr tail. Others cut off the stock subframe and weld on mounts for the bolt on 600rr subframe so the tail easily mounts to that. Either way is a lot of work and if you are not familiar with metal working this is not for you (unless you want a hideous looking tail)

i already got an F4i front on my F3. Im gonna do the 600rr tail soon. at first i was going to do the 03-04 conversion, but after some research I am going with the 05-06. 05-06 does not requre the bending of the subframe. that makes things alot more simpler becuase i do not want to mess with the subframe. they both look awesome and almost identical anyways.

the only reason you didnt have to bend it is cus the 05-06 is not as long, so that means your tails look like poop sitting really close to the tire.
unlike the way is suposed to be. angled pointing up like on a 45-30 degree angle......

IMO i say you do the 05-06 just because you wont have to use the tank covers.

if you use the 01-04 you gun need the tank covers or something to fill the gap....

here is mine.

thats all brackets waiting on welding....
and stupid tank covers.

Well, thanks for the compliments? ha wtf I'm 19 and have done all of this on my own on a Ruby Tuesday income. I'm sorry that I don't have hundreds to dump into it nor the tools I'd like to use to complete it. Idk I'm proud of it and I get compliments on the bike 24/7, but maybe I have ****ty taste? Looking at a more level picture may help out, too.

Wassup, both bikes look better than the stock tail, imo. Could you take a closer picture of how you mounted it to the subframe?I would like to know how you guys got it to stay put. Did you have to make new mounts for the fairing holes to mount or did you use the fatory holes?Me myself i "love" the loke of the 02-03 r1 tail but doesnt look right with the f3 fairings.

I still think replacing the stock subframe with the subframe from the donor bike is the classiest way to go. Rarely is the 600rr tail swap done well. One that sticks out in my minds is DementedF3
