What are my headlight replacement options?
It's in the mail now. I'm sure there is plenty of room to hide the stuff in the front fairing, or if they give you enough wiring, put it in the battery box area. When it arrives i'll come back and post how it went.
I drive a 93 corolla with pretty outdated poopy lights, and my f2's lights are terrible in comparison. I can't wait to see what this will look like.
btw- pretty random, how easily do our fairings cut at the power of a dremmel? I am looking to streamline a cut off both my tail fairings longways. Could that be done without cracking them?

Link or it doesn't exist!
Also, if you're talking about that stupid tail fairing, I read the post Jnicola had about doing one yourself. I did it myself, and it was eeeaaasssyyy. I'd give it a 2 on the DIY difficulty scale (which doesn't exist officialy, but goes to 10).

Well, I would ultimately be cutting the tail fender (i guess you mean the black plastic by the brake light) after I cut my fairing and more of the plastic behind it is exposed. I cut off most of my tail fender already, but more would have to come off from the sides if I cut my fairing a little higher- which is what I meant. Instead of trying a rear end swap or anything like that, I want to try and just take a little off the bottom of my tail fairing starting from the jagged corner sticking out near the bottom of my brake light, to where it connects to the bike near the passenger foot pegs. I think it'd look sweet, and there is nothing behind those fairings in that area. It would just add a little height between the seat and tire.
Sorry Hoosier, I ordered them already. I might have gone with yours if I saw it sooner! I paid 65 bucks for it all shipped. I'll see how they are tomorrow, hopefully.

For anyone trying to decide if it is worth it- go for it in my opinion. Even if you don't do a lot of night driving. I tried for a good 30 minutes to position my stock light to make it more visible. Nothing compares to this installation.
It was easy. Connect battery terminals, a ground wire, connect your old headlight plugin to the one provided, connect their 2 voltage regulators or whatever they are together, and plug in the headlight and you are finished. It is like a night in day difference at night. I am incredibly pleased with the easy installation and incredible light difference. I should have taken before and after pictures. If anyone wants pictures of it now, let me know. And by the way, 55W 5000k is perfectly white. I can't see any sort of color. Just really bright white.
I suggest ddmtuning, though shipping is a tad steep.
Edit: don't mind that white wiring in the pictures- those are my neons. Not part of the HID kit.

I have the ddm tuning 6k hid and it works great, I have it wired in through the high beam and the ballast is snugly ziptied right behind the headlight. If you can find a place to mount it, that would be better,
Get a set of deer warning whistles and put on your bike. I swear by em. I have a set of both of my cars, and a set is in the mail to put on my bike. If you have never used them....trust me, they work. Instead of running/walking in front of your bike/car, they stop and listen to the whistle. You cant hear it so no worries there, give them a try. There has been so many times I have seen deer right on the side of the road and there ears just perk up and listen to the warning whistles on my car as I wizz-by.
I found a good deal on ebay and got two sets for half the price walmart was selling one set. There cheap and really work. Let me know what you decide!
