Talking Video update

At the risk of being a post *****: Here's the latest.
First update video.MTS - YouTube

I've had trouble with my internet or this would have been up earlier. I've already done even more but I'll wait until I make some serious progress before I post another video. Hope you like it.

Check out Welcome to kurveygirl.com to get the Dzus fasteners. They are the cheapest place to get them by far.

Other than that she looks good. Gotta love bikes with race fairings

Edit: Oh I'm using the rustoleum paint you by at Lowe's on mine, its the kind you buy by the qt. Its cheap, very thick, easy to spray, lays down flat and looks great too. Seems pretty good on race fairings. I like the satin finish though, haven't sprayed the gloss. Not sure if you are looking to go all out on a paint job or not, but I like the way it turned out on mine.

I'm going to use the Rustoleum auto enamel in spray cans with a clear coat over that. I don't have a compressor or spray equipment.

I've already fastened the fairings. I used neat plastic push rivets I found at an automobile paint supply store. Works nicely. Six bucks for 25 so cheap too! If they don't work for the long run I'll get the dzus fasteners.

Glad you like it.

Looking good Wranghondo! My right hand cable lightly brushes the temp gauge on full left turn lock too. I just assumed it was a result of the bent up fairing stay after the dear accident, but maybe all of them run a little tight on clearance in that area. (???)

Well, mine has been down several times too so I can't say for sure whether it's the nature of the beast or the result of ***-hattery. Lol!

Only down side to those rivets is are they easy to remove? Not sure how your fairings are made but I have to pull the lower off mine to do any engine work (change oil) and the Dzus let me do that very simply.

Also another thing you might wanna do, if your lower is like mine and is built for oil containment, then you need to drill about a quarter size hole right smack in the middle of the bottom side of the lower. I didn't at first and my bike got wet in the rain one day when I rode it too work, well roads where dry when I took off and I didn't think about the water in the belly pan. I took off, it splashed out and about caused me to wreck when my back tire spun out. Now that I made that hole if I ever get caught in the rain again it won't hold the water.

They actually come out easily. I was surprised, that's the first thing I thought too.

Good advice about the hole except I think I'll custom fit one of those oil absorption "diapers" on the bottom just in case I actually do have a serious oil leak. As I'm sure you know, they are meant to contain oil in the event of a catastrophic engine case failure so I don't want to defeat that added bit of protection.
