Hmmm. Interesting concept. Not exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for the offer and for putting together all of the literature and pix.

This F3 has some sort of electrico-magnet posts that suck in and release the seat (instead of using bolts tosecure the seat down). I'll try to get a picture of the contraption. The previous owner had wired a little push button switch in the middle of the license plate that you push and that fed current from the battery to these e-magnets and then you could just lift the seat off. Pretty ingeneous, but I think if I were doing it, I'd have tied it into the main switch so you couldn't just walk up and pull the seat off.

My '91 had an aftermarket, push button releasewhen I bought it. There's not much room under there (and I think the quick release setup actuallydecreased the storage space) but it makes it easy to access. I wish I could tell you where to find one, but I know they're out there.

K, so here's some pix. This is on my F3 but I'd guess it would fit exactly the same on an F2:

Electromagnets:

Pushbutton switch - you can see the little hole at the top middle of the license plate where it was just barely sticking out - far enough only for your finger to be able to push it in to activate the magnets:

I could be "tempted" to part with the system for folks who'd like to trick out their ride a little more.
