Default Track day questions

So I have my first track day coming up and I was wondering what tire pressure I should run. I did a search but didn't get much from it. The only thing posted was 32 front, 30 rear for track days. Do most agree with this? My bike is stock if that makes a difference and I have Michelin pilot powers. Also I was about to install my frame sliders when I realized I don't know which bolt to replace!! I have attached a picture with a few places marked but I have no clue, I would guess C because that is where the most damage is located from a previous crash (not by me). However around A is where I thought it went, by looking at pictures of other bikes. Oh yeah one more thing does anyone recommend one style/type/brand of spine protector? Thanks in advances for any advice!

Dan

Been running Michelins for years on the track, the numbers you posted are a good starting point. But never tunnel vision yourself; changing pressure can make lots of grip difference depending on track surface/temperature. Move in small increments…

Your best bet would be to use one of your warm-up sessions for a good base line test. Start with 32/32 (f/r) and do some hot laps. Then go to 32/30, you should feel the grip changes and find what feels good for that track.

You can ask the vendor at the track too....assuming there is a guy selling Michelin. On Powers I've been told30/30 and 30/29 F/R (I liked 30/29)....but I agree that 32/32 is a safe starting point.

Let your tires cool as much as possible before making adjustments...hot pressures can be significantly higher....and the pressures numbers we are throwing around are COLD.
