Default tachometer not working

When I bought the bike the tachometer and speedomter didn't to work. I just found out today that the speedo cable is today. My friend and I figured out the culprit was either the drive or the speedometer itself. For the tachometer. We have no clue where to start. I own a 1993 CBR f2

hey pinoy, the easiest way to check if it's the cable or the drive (for the speedo) is to take the cable off at the speedometer side, spin your front wheel, and see if it's still moving. In my case, it appears my problem lies in the mechanics of the gauge.

We did the speedo wire check and it didnt move. We suspect the drive because the wire itself moved when we manually rotated it from one end. As for the tach we got continuity, so anyone got a replacement tach?

I took my cluster off the bike my speedo and tacho were not working i found that moistue must have entered the electrics at the back of the guages I cleaned all the screws and washers at the back of the cluster that were coroded and they both now work my speedo is the sensor type and not the cable type. The tacho tends to jump to life but at least it works may be an underlying fault ECM I will get a friend to check that.
