Default suspension questions?

Does anyone know if the 94 f2 fork is a cartrige style fork, like the f3 forks? Also, is the 94 rear shock the same as the f3 shock, or were they updated for the f3?

Yes the fork is a cartrige style fork, it is probably smaller in diameter than on the F3, same probably goes for the shock. The shock may interchange as they probably only changed internal settings and perhaps a different spring rate.

Hate to disagree with you, but a F2 does not have cartridge forks (ok, the 1994 model kinda sort does, but with limited adjustment). The F2 has a conventional style fork. True cartridge forks did not come till the F3.

The F2 and F3 shock will work, but the spring rates are different as well as the linkage rates.

Hmm, I thought the 94 forks were cartridge . Maybe not?

So, does anyone know how to swap the lower part of the f2 forks onto the f3 forks? I keep reading that it can be done, but I haven't been able to find anyone who has done it. I'd like to get some cartridge forks for the f2, but i really like having a speedo, so I am not real excited about swapping to the entire f3 front end.

The other thing I have considered is getting the racetech springs and cartrige emulators. They sound like a good idea, but I don't know how they compare to actual cartridge forks. Anyone care to share their opinion?

Thanks,

Pete
