For this issue, I would bypass the sidestand and clutch sensors and double check all your electrical connections since it sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere.

hahhahahhahahaha

ridinthabay is right. im sorry but that friend is not a friend. ask him for your money back and kick his *** if you have time. The bike is not worth chit and therefore trying to fix it is useless. Have a nice long chat with your "buddy".

Yep, sounds like trouble with the side stand sensors.

You should be able to click it UP into 2nd and shut off as well.

Woah, woah, woah. Before you start tearing into your electrical system, start simple. OP, are you aware that your bike has a sidestand switch and when you engage first with the stand down it will die? Start with that, I'm guessing your stand was down. Also, your bike will def run funky without an air filter so you should get one in there before you go any further.

And yea, your friend sucks.

GL man.

Lol... you know, sometimes the simple stuff is just soooo over looked. I am glad you pointed this out. I suppose anyone new to bikes may not realize this.

Sidestand sensor didn't work to begin with I have it temp bypassed and the light is on the bike was in nuetral and it would die going into second also. I don't have that issue any longer thank god. Oh and I put a new filter in and it runs like a champ. Now for the other $700 I got to dump into it. I'm just gonna fix it up all pretty and show him that even when he ***** someone over they can still come out on top! I'll post a pic soon so you guys can see the peice of s*** he hid under race fairings.

Air filter, huh? What was wrong with the original one? Was it really dirty? Or just didn't fit right in the box? (Or M.I.A.? lol)

Default lol

sounded like he got it with no filter and when he put one in it ran fine...? if you jiggled the cdi and the shut off problem went away you may still have an issue with that later down the road(hopfuly not on the road ).
