Default starting a new project a few questions

I'm looking at starting on a 1991 cbr600f2 project bike. I'm new to the whole bike so exuse me if i come off as noob. Here is what I know i have a cbr600f2 frame with a over bored motor never cranked, new clutch. It has a cbr900 swing arm and front forks. What i dont have is any of the body work (no fairings, turn signals, gas tank seat or dash). Im thinking about going with a street figher look.

Where did you guys find these and how much are they? How do they work?

first off congrats on the new project. im just finishing up mine. before you worry about fairings and stuff, make sure that everything is in working condition and ready to go so that you can just slap the plastics on and go instead of having to take them on and off constantly to fix stuff.

i just got a complete set of oem plastics off ebay for $500 which was a killer deal since they were oem and came with the tank and a headlight. you will either have to scavenge for them or go with the chinese ones that are 50/50 in quality. there are some threads on them if you look. if you are patient and keep looking you will find a good deal.

those gauges are available from www.trailtech.net although there is no replacement specifically listed for these bikes, the kit for an SV650 fits directly (the wiring is universal). It has a speedo, tach, ambient and coolant temp, shift lights, odo, etc. PM me if you need more info.

thank you the info. right now im just getting every thing together and seeing what this is going to cost me to finish I'm on a very very tight bugget here. Im going to go to a street fighter look at least at first for two reasons; I don't have the money for new fairings and I will most likley lay down my first bike and don't want to have buy two sets of fairings.
List of stuff I know i still need:
gas tank
seat
rear tail light
dash
battery

Ouch...not sure if I'd start riding if I was already planning on laying it down at some point.

If I can help with something....................... just ask
The picture that you post is from My CBR600 but I prepare this bike for race track Only

and one pic 600F2 with ZXR400 Forks,CBR1000RR '08 Front Fairings and YZF R6 '07 tail section all fairing is Race Body Work

Rear whell can change with 5,5" from CBR900&919 RR without change swingarm ..................... and this MOD is not so difficulty

The way I see it is every one of my buddy's who rides has laid a bike down in the first two years on the road so its likely I will. I'm not planing on it but I'm very aware it is very likely.

I realized it was a race bike but i was hoping i could pull it off on street bike. btw you have a very nice bike. I had a custom digital dash in pickup I owned(94 nissan d21 with a chevy motor) and loved it so i figured why not buy one for my bike. As to you're wheel comment I believe the 900 wheels are on the bike now. The bike is at home and I am at collage for the next week so i cant check but I know the stock 600 wheels are not the ones on the bike and with it having a 900 swing arm I would think it would have 900 wheels.

I have been digging around the forum a lot since I joined at the "street fighter" bikes and i would really like to see some close ups of how they mount a lot of the stuff with out the fairings and what nots. I would also like to know what i legally have to have on bike(aka mirrors turn signals head lights wind screen etc). I live in Alabama and most likely when I get this bike done it will not leave the areas around Birmingham and The campus of the University of Alabama(we coming for you Gaters today).

This is one of the street fighter bikes I really like and the kind I would like to see more detailed pictures of:
