Some work before spring hits!

RE: Some work before spring hits!
So by cleaning, I can take the carbs off, remove the bowls and other parts as in the how to clean carbs section, remove jets and clean them out put them back in and load carbs back onto bike without having to rejet? Does rejetting mean taking out the old jets and buying new ones and putting them on. I have read the rejetting section that explains adjusting the pilot screws and stuff.
I guess what I am asking is if I clean the carbs and Idel jets, and put everything back together like in the how to section and sync them I am good?
I am really sorry, I am trying to understand but I am new to this stuff.
I just want this to run as smoothly as possible.
THank you very much

When cleaning the carbs, you can take the whole carb unit off (without separating them into 4 so you dont have to resync them). Then you can take the float bowls off and access everything. I did it without any knowledge of anything, just be really careful esp. with the rubber stuff and keep everything together. When you take the screws out, keep them separated by carb number. Clean everything with carb cleaner. I actually got one that you dip parts into. Then rinse it all and dry it. Once it's all dry, put it back together. The thing I had the most interesting time with was getting the gasket for the float bowl separated without breaking it. You might need a new gasket set for that if you mess them up. Obviously avoid getting carb cleaner on rubber, etc etc. Just post if you have any more questions.
