Default Shifter Problem

i have a problem with my shifter, sometimes when i shift, it gets stuck when i shift up and sometimes down, for instance when i shift up too hard, it gets stuck and i have to kick it back down, anyone kno how i could fix that problem? or what it might be?
i also have another problem, my second gear is shot, but i've been told two things, i've been told that my clutch could possibly be on it's way out, or my tranny is just ****ed up, anyone have any thoughts??

Well if second gear is shot that is the root of your problem, now the shift fork is geting stuck on the shift drum from what it sounds...next possible step is the parts that are broken/worn will get caught in the tranny somewhere; maybe causing the tranny to lock up and make the rear wheel lock up to..if you are going at speed and banked over the results will not be nice..

I'll second that diagnosis -- could be crapped out fork. Gotta split the cases to be absolutely positive. Labor/time intensive I'm sorry to say. Good luck.

Buy the manual and tear into that sucker. I wouldn't personally ride the thing anymore until it was repaired though. Too much chance of something either locking up the tranny (worst case) or small pieces of stuff crapping out all your gears or sploding the motor (expensiver case). If you've got the room and a little time and a buddy that'll help with the occasional heavy stuff (not required but sure as hell helps) then open her up and see how much replacement parts are gonna cost. Beware of the tranny ads on e-bay. Usually the reason they're selling it is because it's in worse condition than yours.

yea, i would absolutely love to tear that bitch apart and start wrenchin, but i live in a condo with a bunch of people that are ready to die, and i can't even park my bike here where i live!!! i wish i could, but i can't even park it, let alone work on it, you can't even work on your own car in the condo, it's bull****. Does anyone kno what is involved in replacing my Pulser Cover? just take the bolts off, have a catch pan for the oil, and replace the gasket?? when i wrecked i got a crack in my cover and i need to get a new one so i don't have oil on my right foot when i get off my damn bike
