Question Reserve question?

I read online that our tanks hold 4.2224 gallons. I was just wondering if anyone knew how much the reserve part held? How does the reserve get full again? When we fill the tank does it just flow into another portion of it or what? Im so confused? lol

There is no separate "reserve" tank on your motorcycle. There is only the main tank. Turning your petcock to reserve simply takes fuel from lower in the tank. Here is a good link that describes how it works.

Its all the same tank , Its set up like that as a precaution because our bikes dont have fuel gauges or indicator lights.

I ran out of gas one time, and turned to the reserve, and nothing happened. Don't rely on it !

Correct. When I hit around 150 miles on the trip. I know this is the time I need to fuel up soon.

Wow, that sucks. Mine works every time. Maybe you have a bad petcock.

if you kill the bike by running out of fuel, you have to wait for a minute for the gas to flow again, it doesnt work instantly

I didn't know that. My bike started stuttering like a mother****er, so i switched to reserve, and nothing happened, so I switched it back. I guess I didn't give it enough time.
