Replacing clutch plates...
I assume someone on this board has changed their clutch plates. I need to change mine now. The manual I have references a special honda tool to break the center nut loose, which I of course do not have. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck doing it themselves and what tools/techniques they used toget the job done. Thanks

RE: Replacing clutch plates...
Panic
Thanks for the tip. I unfortunately didn't have an impact wrench, so I had to devise another method. It actually worked pretty well:
Removed the lift plate (this is the 4 point star shaped plate that holds the springs down). That allowed me access to the center nut
Found some washers that would fit over the spring retaining bolts and reinstalled the springs with the bolt holding down the washer, which held down the spring. This compressed the clutch pack
Shifted the bike into first gear, stepped on the rear break and gave a little tug on the socket breaker bar and away we went!
Thought I would post the process, just in case anyone else wanted to see it. The impact would have been much faster though
