Hi, its the old guy again...

I've been looking at some 600's F1's and F2's and so far one thing is being pretty consistent- cosmetically, the head stock area, top of the triple clamp and instrument cluster surrounds- have all been rather nasty (technical term).

Question for those of you who do restorations... how do you deal with this? Can the plastic be reclaimed or is it normally a replace with new? The top of the clamp can be painted but looks like a major disassembly job.

Any thoughts?

 

I painted my tripleclamp in place and poished the plastic bits. An old girl has to have a little petina.
