Default Recommendations Sought

Looking for suggestions on a good steering dampener for the F2. Additionally, I would like to get frame sliders and it is my understanding plastic must be cut?

The F2 is for track use with thoughts of possibly racing it next season.

I was thinking about the Hyperpro RSC for the dampener.

Thanks in advance.

The HyperPro is the nicest looking one I've seen, I'm racing next year too on the F2, I've blasted around on the street (yes, bad, I know) and never had any shutters... The F2 is pretty stable.

Are you sure the $450 is worth it?

I know it is pricey. There are a couple others in the 250 range. I was also thinking as you are, hasn't happened yet and it probably won't. I have since been convinced that it's not a bad idea to have a dampener.

I'm thinking as my skills increase so does the speed and a tank slapper is waiting out there for me somewhere. It may not even be self induced but a crack in the track's pavement or something beyond my control.

Is spending $$ on a dampener worth sparing me an ugly off? Yes.

Is a $250 dampener as good as a $450 dampener? Is the extra 250 just the looks?

If you can afford a dampener without taking away from other necessities for the track (track fee's, tires, oil, etc) go for it.

The extra peace of mind may even shave a few seconds off your lap times.

As for the functionality between the $250 damper and the $450 damper, it depends on the quality, price can mean nothing or can be everything.

Although I must say the Hyperpro looks much more sturdy than the other dainty ones I've seen for the F2. (cant remember the brands at this time)

I have a cheap Daytona steering damper and it does work, although compared to a friend who has a GPR on an 06 R6, well there is no comparison. Personally me I do not go fast enough to need the damper but I got it for 70 shipped. It still works though.

Daytona, that's the one...

Just comparing the two you can tell which one looks much more functional. The Daytona looks like a slow-closer on a screen door.

Daytona damper:

RSC Damper

Screen Door Closer

Screen Door Closer, I love it.[sm=icon_rofl.gif]

The Daytona really looks like one doesn't it...

The RSC sure looks more rugged.

Decisions, decisions..[sm=smiley24.gif] 450 is a set of tires + ..hmmm

[sm=thanx.gif] guys!
