Putting a '97 Gsxr inverted fork on the F2, need bearing help?!
#2
from what ive gathered is that they have the same size upper and lower. but only the lower fits (30x55x17) i am currently trying to use an 01 gsxr 750 usd, which is a showa. it has 50mm clip on and 54mm lower triple clamp. im going to use a either a rc51 sp1, 1000rr,954,or 600rr triples so i dont have to mess with machining a stem cus they fit the f2. and they should clamp the showa fork proper.but im sure ill have to get spacers machined to get the wheel and brakes to work.ill know more when im done..
good luck.
good luck.

it has been done before, My forks are on the way. F2 use rollerbearings and Gsxr use needlebearings. They don't match up so well. This is a old post from 2004 and cannot contact the guy who posted this. It obviouusly will work! Better suspension and breaks, especially for the track.

ill be takin pics of my install just for reference. not sure when its gonna be done tho. just ordered brakes and an axle and a digital caliper so i can measure to see if i can use honda triple clamps. i might end up selling the forks and stuff and trying to use a zx10 or 14 fork cus i like the marschini style wheels alot more than the 3 spoke and radial brakes would be nice. either way ill be takin pics of the install

well since the gsxr lower only fits and not the upper. and the forks are a showa which honda uses also. im not 100% sure but ill find out this week, but im trying to use a 600rr upper and lower trees which should be a strait bolt on. i just have to make sure that my gixxer fork is infact 50mm clipon size and 54mm lower clamp. some kawi forks use that size also so we should have a few fork leg options for the 600rr trees. now im just trying to figure out widths of trees and wheels to decide what wheel and brake combo i want. i should have a pretty decent list of what works once my digital calipers get here next week

i heard the 4 piston brakes had a better feel to them. never tried either first hand. but i keep reading that the 6 piston feels "woody" not sure what that means tho. and yeah i think im selling my gixxer set up. and i did more research i think you need the 1000 triple trees for the larger tubes. either way still not %100 sure till i get my digital calipers
