I think my petcock is leaking because after leaving the bike over nite in the garage their is a strong smell of gas. So i know a new one cost around 160 so, my question is can i reubuild the damn thing. thx for your help in advance.

 

I'd take off the tank and check all your lines first. put a piece of toilet paper under the petcock, see if its a wringled up from gas leaking on it. Also check around the seal for the tank lid cover.

 

be sure to check your seal around the filler. also when i disconnect my tank and re hook it up, itll leak for a bit then it stops. nothing excesive just a couple drops from the petcock

 

Mine would leak around the vacuum diagram part. Get a F3 or F4 petcock from ebay and call it a day.

 

didnt know we could use a f3 or a f4 petcock. i think by me just trurning the **** to off has helped me alot

yes...i bought a kit from germany......you guys must have them i the US too,...

 

NO that will not work!! The F2 petcock works by vacuum of the #1 port. The F3 does not use vacuum.

 

Oh honey, I should hope he would be smart enough to use a $.05 vacuum cap. Jeez.

 

Yeah jus did a quick search on google and no luck. was hoping somebody knows where to get the parts to rebuild it. or somebody has found a site in the u.s.a.
