I will be tearing my bike apart this winter and will check the petcock. I have ran it completely out and had to push it into a gas station. Used all fuel and reserve and came up with 2.7 gallons. I will check it out when I tear it down.

I try to fill mine at 120 miles routeinly, and it almost always takes 3 - 3.4 Gallons to refill. That is without bumping the reserve tank, "on" position only. I would check the fuel level next time you run out. When I switch to reserve there is only a small puddle in the very bottom of the tank, mabye a cupfull at most.

The only thing that annoys me is the lack of fuel gauge!

Surley you must be riding with dudes on DR650SE's with 30 litre Acerbis tanks. No wonder they're pissed off about you stopping so often.

The f2 comes with a fuel gauge. It's called opening your tank and looking inside, in combination with your trip-meter.

Hope you figure it out as well. I use to get around 150-160 easily before the reserve came on. With reserve I would hit around 200 miles on a tank easily. Much more fuel efficient than my f4i. These are great bikes and I would love to get another one day.

Riding with a high rpm will burn more gas faster, also with worse mpg, do you stay in low gears? If I stay in second for wheelies I can burn my tank alot quicker than getting into 6th and cruising. Even your sprockets can have you at a higher rpm than a stock bike.
