Yeah, ive got some issues getting my baby back to top condition. Slowly trying to knock everything out piece by piece till im comfortable with it. Trying to find a good shop around my area that knows there stuff. Got laid off but now that i got a place to hire me, ive got 900 bucks heading my way thats going straight into maintenance. Found i have an oil leak from the oil pan as well. Lucky that i caught it, or that would have been a quick stop.

These carbed CBRs are incredibly sensitive to anything you do that changes the air pressure and velocity.K&Ns are crap.Your midrange disappears. If they were the jewels,I'd swear by them.Even when these bikes were the "latest greatest" the people who sold the filters and the jet kits all said,"Get the jet kit,not the filter".

The reason is you really lose the sync of your carb slides when you use a K&N.People can yap all they want about "more air more fuel more power".These bikes aren't the same as grandpa's old OldsmoBuick where that jibberish is true.

EMGO and Hi Flow both make an OEM replacement filter for $30 retail.Prolly made in the same plant :P
