Default newb question...

OK i've been avoiding asking this question because I didn't want to sound dumb, but i'm now just too curious. I don't really get after my F2 all that much, just casual riding. When I do though, i've noticed a substantial powerband that kicks in at about 7-8k. It is neither subtle or smooth and, although embarrassing to say, catches me off guard if I forget about it. So I guess my question is, is this normal? Should it be a smoother transition than that, or is that how the F2's are?

The motor definately doesn't start generating real power until you're up above 6K or so, but I can't say that it resembles anything like an obvious powerband. Mine still accelerates smoothlyand predictably above that RPM.
