If you are going to tear into the forks (might not be necessary, get someone with bike knowledge to give them a 'feel') you should think about what weight of fork oil to put in... if I was doing mine I would put in heavier weight oil as I am pushing 200lbs.

Heavier fork oil will give you some more compression damping (stiffer) and slow down the rebound as well.
