new tires, still lose traction on downshift
i've notice that since ive gotten my new tires (micheline pilot powers) the bike rides AWESOME, combined with new bearings front and back also. but what i dont like, is the rear end has fish tailed on me a a couple times when i've downshifted with too much compression.
it never did it before on my old tires. the tires have about 500 miles on them now, and it has happened 20 minutes into my ride, so i know its not cold tires.
im thinking that it could be my suspension, when i got the bike the rear end was pretty low, i didnt think anything of it until i started reading into proper preload settings. could my suspension be the problem?

....unless you are braking hard while downshifting, lifting the rear faster than before since you stiffened up your suspension.
practice some rev matching and you're good to go!

If you're riding aggresively or have trouble matching rpm to the gear, an old racer trick is to bump your idle up so its closer to where it should be even with the throttle shut. At track days I used to run mine up to about 2500 to 2800 warm. Helps a lot.

well said folks. just knowing what it is and how to control it will make you a happier rider. sometimes while riding extremely agressive (on the track ofcourse) even with bliping the throtle, i still get some wheel lock. kinda fun. get the butt sliding a bit before you go into that turn. ofcourse never to be done in a turn. practice rev matchin, you'll be fine.
