Anybody know of specific internal issues that arise for bikes used mostly for track days or racing? Don't know how many miles on mine, but it is the original engine.

 

I would probly say piston rings and gaskets, the oil and engine would get real hot so they would probly be the first things damaged I would think.

 

I'd say just evidence of advanced wear. Piston rings, cylinder walls, cam chain, maybe some transmission issues.

 

Thanks, guys. What about cam chains? Just wear, or something more specific you know of? Heard a funny noise last weekend on the track whilst the bike was losing power. Carbs are the primary issue, I'm hoping the only one.
