Default quick question new f4i owner

Hey guys ... just picked up an 01 f4i tonight and i have a question. Im not used to this style yet (previously an f3 owner) Heres the deal. I have no tail light it doesnt light up at all when i turn the bike on... the only time it lights up is when i hit the rear brake. It doesnt light up when i hit the front brake lever either. Is there two bulbs in there? One linked to the rear brake and one thats linked to the front brake and also thats powered when you turn the bike on? I havent had time to check it yet and was just curious if anyone knew. thanks!

I think its one lamp with two wires...one for the brake and one for the tail light..probably the wire for tail light is burned...You can easy check that out by remove the lamp and look it...For the front brake i don't recall the position of the brake light sensor...And the tail light (as the lights) turns on when you turn the key to on..not ignite the bike..ooo and you must have switch the lights button on..otherwise you are not gonna see anything..

Its got dual filament bulbs. check all the fuses. if they are good then take the bulbs out and look and see if the running light filament is burned.

Two bulbs.

In addition to what letsride said, make sure your underseat wiring that goes to the rear lights, is not chafing causing a short.

Is it a stock bike? Has there been an FE mod done to it causing wiring to be cut, etc?

If it does end up being the front brake switch is that something that can be picked up at any auto parts store or does it have to be ordered from a dealer?
